| Safakadal team of Srinagar wins prestigious Shadab Cricket trophy | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jul 31: The concluding function of Shadab College Cricket Tournament was held in the college campus here today.
Chief guest of the function was Prof. Abdul Wahid Qureshi, VC Central University. Renzushah, Director Information was the guest of honour. 16 teams had participated. The final was played between Kounser College & C.C Cricket club Safa Kadal. The C.C Cricket club Safakadal won the match by two wickets.
In his speech Prof. Wahid encouraged the players & explained how games train the youth to cooperate with their own team & compete with the opposite team. It is in the game field that the young are trained for life. They learn how to face challenges and their allround personality gets developed. Above all they develop sportsman spirit and learn to
take life in its own stride.
He encouraged the organisers of the tournament and expressed hope that more and more people from the private sector will work to direct the youth in the direction of sports and cultural activities. Renzu Shah expressed his appreciation for the initiatives taken by a private B.Ed college in this direction.
