| Blasts should not stall Indo-Pak peace process: JKDF | | | Jammu, July 30 : Demanding a resolution of the Kashmir issue on a "permanent basis," Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) today said the recent blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar should not be allowed to stall the Indo-Pak peace process.
"The explosions in Mumbai and Srinagar should not be allowed to stall the peace process," JKDF chief Pandit Bhusan Bazaz said while addressing party workers here.
He said it was not wise on the part of government to postpone the Foreign Secretary-level talks. Suspension of peace process between India and Pakistan is going to strengthen the hands of forces working against peace, he said.
Bazaz said "indecision" with regard to the solution of Kashmir issue has been causing "heartburn" to Kashmiris, "who see no hope but grope in the darkness of violence." The JKDF leader said the issue needed to be resolved with "immediate effect" and on "permanent basis".
Bazaz reminded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of his promises made recently during round table conference in Srinagar and said "mistakes of the past" had to be forgotten if all the issues have to be resolved in a peaceful manner. |
