Lajwanti Hospital launches awareness campaign on urine incontinence | | | Early Times Report Jammu July 31: Lajwanti Medical Trust Center for minimal invasive surgery and sling operations launched today an awareness campaign on the topic ‘female leakage of urine’. Programme was organised at the Hospital run under the same trust at Greater Kailash area. About 100 women between age 40-60 years representing varied strata of society attended the programme wherein the community leaders were apprised of the rising incidence of disease among women of age 40 years and above. Speaking on the occasion chairman of the Trust Dr Kasturi Lal said that surprisingly 19 percent of Indian women who suffer from this disease intentionally avoid to seek the help of doctors because of social stigma. He said that doctors can hardly enumerate the number of cases who voluntarily come forward to seek their advice and treatment. During the launch of the campaign an exhibition for education of public and display of sling operation technique for treatment was purposefully setup by the organizers with the intension to explain that the disease should not be considered as stigma in life. Others who spoke prominently on the occasion included Dr Indu Koul, Dr Anil Mehta, Dr Anil Mahajan and Dr Sadhna.
