Bhalla launches Rs. 73 lakh development projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 31: -Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said Government is making all out efforts to provide all basic amenities to the people across the State adding that UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is providing liberal funding to the Government for completing the ongoing projects in a time bound manner besides initiating new development works.
This was stated by the minister while interacting with the people after launching Rs. 73 lakh development projects at Deeli village, Kacha Talab in Bahu Fort, Balmiki Colony, Rani Talab in Digiana, Deshmash Nagar, Hari Nagar in Kunjwani and Kashmiri Basti in Belicharana, here today.
Bhalla said Government is committed to develop every corner of the State on modern lines in providing better roads, adequate drinking water, power, hospitals, recreational parks, schools besides lanes and drains. He sought cooperation of the people in implementing the development programmes on ground level.
To deal with water scarcity in Belicharana, the Minister informed that Government has commissioned 5500 gallon discharge per hour capacity deep drill tube well, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 118.82 lakh under water supply scheme Belicharana. He asked the engineers to immediately start the digging works for laying of water supply pipes in uncovered areas of the village or which Government has earmarked Rs. 36 lakh.
Bhalla asked the PDD engineers to shift the power supply wires which passed through the roofs of residents and installed on newly installed poles with 3 days so that the residents do not face any inconvenience.
The Minister was apprised that 10 kanals of land Below Poverty Line of 35 families comes under Roshni Act but till date land was not regularized from Revenue Department. He asked the concerned authorities to look into the matter and for early redressal of genuine problem of the people. He asked the residents not to construct their houses without regularization/permission from Revenue authorities adding such practices are creating hindrances in regularizing their land under Roshni Act.
Bhalla informed the locals that Centre has approved Rs. 71 crore for expansion and upgradation of Jammu airport terminal building adding with the development of the airport on the level of International standard; it would enhance passenger-handling capacity to 700 passengers.
