| DD Kashir to telecast Gojri serial “Malli Gujjari” from August 1st | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, July 31: In order to showcase the life and Culture of Gujjars and Bakerwals of Jammu and Kashmir,the Kashir Channel of Doordarshan is all set to telecast weekly Gojri drama serial “Malli Gujjari from 1st August for four weeks.
Based on life and works of a popular Gujjar lady from Poonch known as “Maalli Gujjari” the serial has been written by leading Gojri writer and activist Javaid Rahi and directed by Qayoom Raja.
A presentation of Neeru Films J&K , the serial has been produced by young film producer Mrs Neeru Raina daughter of renowned film/Serial maker K K Raina and Kashmiri Poets Bimla Raina .
The lyrics have been contributed by Gojri poet Shokat Naseem Chowdhary who also worked in the serial as an actor and language expert. The music of the serial was arranged by Suraj Parkash.
Giving details Neeru Raina producer of the play told that the drama would not be seen only across the state but in more than 150 countries and Non-Resident Kashmiris (NRK`s) settled in these countries would see the telecast which would provide them insight into the tribal culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
She said as per communication received from DDK authorities the telecast would be scheduled at 10 pm every Monday starting from tomorrow and would be seen on DD Kashir in four episodes.
Neeru further said that the shooting part was done in tribal localities of Kalakote, Nowshara and Rajouri areas. It will showcase tribal culture of Gujjars uniquely and vibrantly, she added.
