Former IAS is not acceptable as interim VC of Central University: NSF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 31: National Secular Forum continued its agitation for the demand of local Vice-Chancellor on 35th consecutive day and raised slogans against state and central government for playing with career of students. A large number of NSF activists of Bishnah unit took out protest rally that started from main bazaar towards bus stand under the leadership of state president Vikas Sharma Kuldeep Sharma and Amit Sharma.
Amid anti-government slogans, angry activists alleged that 15 central universities were sanctioned by the Central Government across the country, included one each for Jammu and Kashmir, but no vice-chancellor has been appointed so far for Jammu Central University as other universities have almost completed their one session.
Addressing media person at JU here today, NSF president Vikas Sharma said, "Central Government has made mockery of the Jammu.
Firstly, the unnecessary delay is being made in the appointment of Vice Chancellor. Now, after delay of almost two year, it is being said that Central University of Jammu is an academic institution and not a construction project or Government sponsored scheme where a retired and outdated IAS officer is being appointed, he added. He further said it seems that vested interest in state doesn't want University to run smoothly that's why such blunders are being committed.
Addressing the gathering senior leader NSF Kuldeep Sharma has taken a strong note of delay in the coming of up central university in Jammu.
He said that Jammu people have always been mistreated and same has happened in the case of coming up of central university in Jammu.
He also said that Jammu and Ladakh has been unseen by the UPA govt. since it has come into power. And they have been caring too much about Kashmir with granting them with special political and economical package.
If the HRD minister fails in appointing local VC for the Central University of Jammu then NSF will continue protest against UPA-Govt.
Among those who were present in the protest included, Shashi Pal Sharma, Mintu Gupta, Amit, Pardeep Sharma, Mohinder Singh Charak, Mangal Kumar and others.
