| SDM felicitates Sanskrit, Dogri luminaries | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAMNAGAR, July 31: A programme was organized to felicitate Sanskrit and Dogri scholars at Government Higher Secondary School here by the prominent citizens of the town.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dudu Basantgarh Amit Sharma, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, felicitated Pandit Vishav Murti Shastri- a son of the soil and belongs to a remote village Kasuri in Ramangar Tehsil- for his contribution in promoting Sanskrit language in the state .
Another local luminary Prakash Premi of the same village who is also a great contributor for the promotion of Dogri language was also felicitated by SDM Amit Sharma.
The prominent citizens also honoured SDM Amit Sharma for distinguished services towards masses in the entire Sub Division in the last two years.
Few other local contributors in the field of art, culture, literature and public life were also honoured. They include Khem Raj Sharma (Retd NT), Master Hans Raj (Retd), Jagdish Sharma (PET Retd).
SDM Amit Sharma, in his address, appreciated the efforts of public in Ramnagar for organizing this function to honour all local luminaries who had risen from remote belts of Sub Division and now, they hold top positions at the highest levels in various fields, especially in the field of art and literature.
Vishav Murti Shastri and Prakash Premi thanked the administration and local public for honouring them and assured the public that they resolved at this moment that they will continue their relentless efforts in the promotion of Sanskrit and Dogri in the coming years.
The main organizers of the felicitation ceremony were Vijay Kumar Sharma, Sudesh Kumar, Mulk Raj, Ranjeet Singh and Bhagesh Chander Shastri.
