Before Govt, Army to empower Panches-Sarpanches in Rajouri
Decides to involve these members in Sadbhavana projects

RAJOURI, July 31:Army has decided to engage Sarpanches and Panches in Sadbhavana projects by considering their suggestions and plans for the welfare of the people of this border district. The decision in this regard has been taken to take Army’s help to strengthen the basic democratic institution in this state.

Talking to media persons on the rasing day of 14 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Commander of 14 Sector RR RPS Kahlon said that the state Government has established basic structure of democracy in this state and army will play its role in the welfare of the people by collaborating the Panchayats. He said that Army is already running developmental projects under Operation Sadbhavana and now the works will be initiated on the suggestions and plans made by the Sarpanches and Panches.

The Commander said that army want to bridge gap between army and general public and Panchayats will play major role in this regard. He said that they will welcome the suggestions of Sarpanches and Panches in running operation Sadbhavana in this area.

Although state government has yet not given any powers to these Sarpanches and panches, Army has come forward with a big offer to the Panches and Sarpanches which will turn fruitful in the welfare of the people of this militancy infested area which was once hardcore den of militants.

Meanwhile, Army’s 14 Sector hold programme on the Raising Day in which locals were invited for get together. In the programme, locals highlighted various issues of public interest which was listened by the Commander and assured them for taking up the issues with the concerned departments for their redressal.
