JCC serves ultimatum to govt, Concede demands by Aug 4

JAMMU, July 31:Joint Consultative Committee has served ultimatum to the state government to concede the just and genuine agreed demands of the employees before August 4 otherwise the employees shall have no option, but to go on a two day long Kaam Chhodo Hartal on August 5 and 6 as already announced

Addressing press conference here today, J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (JKEJAC), one of the major constituent of JCC, Ram Kumar said JCC out rightly rejected the so called roadmap of the State Government for 6th Pay commission arrears and demands to release arrear in two instalments as per central Government in favour of employees and pensioners.

He said that Government should declare the policy for regularization of daily rated workers who have completed 7 years of service after 1994.

Ram Kumar said the decision to hold Kaam Chhodo hartal was taken on July 19 after facing a suppressive action by Government on July 18 by using water cannon, brutal lathi charge besides arresting more than three thousand employees adding that hundreds of employees got injured. He said that government has crossed all barriers of norms instead of conceding the agreed demands, it is backing out from its commitments made with the JCC members on February 19, 2009 and May 14, 2010.

Kumar informed that EJAC concluded phase 1 and 2 of intensive campaign at various Distt and Tehsil of Jammu regions viz Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, Reasi, Kathua, R S Pura, Akhnoor and Bishnah and JCC will start IIIrd Phase of intensive campaign in Jammu City from July 1 to make the 2 days strike, a grand success.

During the campaign the activist as well as employees came out of their offices and welcomed the JCC members and gave assurance to make the two days Kaam Chhodo Hartal successful.

Meanwhile, a team of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum headed by Ganesh Khajuria State General Secretary conducted an extensive tour of different districts of Jammu Division to garner employees support for the strike call, given by JCC.

During the first phase of campaign several Members of Jammu Kashmir Teacher's Forum including Gopal Singh Jamwal, Rajinder Gupta, Kuldeep Singh, Satish Dutta, Darshan Sharma, Rajeshwar Singh, Joginder Singh, Rajnish Sharma, Digvijay Singh, Ashok Sharma and others held several meetings with the employees in Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi, Samba, Kathua, Bishnah, R.S.Pura, Akhnoor and appealed employees to actively participate in the strike on 5th and 6th August
