| JMC starts tile laying work at Christian Colony | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 31:To accelerate the development works in under developed areas of the city, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has started PCC tile works in Prem Nagar Christian Colony Jammu.
People gathered on the occasion thanked Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand and Commissioner JMC, S C Sawhney for providing funds for the said work. People of the area were facing a lot as the lanes were without tiles from the existence of the colony.
While speaking, Narinder Sharma, PCC Secretary said that with the long struggle of Wazir Massih and Parkash Massih, this colony came in existence and people mostly of working class from all sections of the society got small piece of land to construct their respective houses.
Thomas Khokhar, JMC contested candidate also thanked Deputy Chief Minister for liberal funding to the area for developmental works. He said that almost all streets of the Christian colony and Prem Nagar are covered with PCC tiles and black topping.
People gathered raised slogans in favour of Sonia Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Deputy Chief Minister.
Prominent among those who also addressed the gathering were Krishan Singh, Christopher Parkash, Tulsi Ram, Thomas Gill, Sarajudin, Vijay Kumar, Vishal Massih, Rani, Shanti Devi and others.
