Shetty Commission Report
7/31/2011 9:57:17 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July-31 (JNF):- The judicial employees have decided to go on three day token strike to protest non-implementation of Shetty Commission Report. The decision was taken in an extra-ordinary meeting of the J&K Judicial Employees Welfare Association. The strike shall commence August 23.
The meeting expressed concern over complete insensitivity of the State Govt about the issues relation to administration of justice and long pending issues including reorganization of staff, structure, implementation of shetty commission report, creation of staff for newly created District Courts. In the meeting has been held that the total hostile and non-chalant attitude of Commissioner/Secretary Law has in fact created wedge between the High Court and the Govt resulting into suffering of the staff in particular and people at large in general.

The meeting held that the delay in appointment of district judges had added to the anger of the employees. The baseless stance taken by the Commissioner/Secretary law regarding Shetty Commission report is yet another issue which has engaged serious intention of judicial employees. If implementation of sixth pay commission report, agreement with the reserve bank of India and other executive and legislative measures taken by the State Govt has not shaken the spirit of Article 370, how can the implementation of Shetty Commission Report interfere with the provision of Article 370. In the opinion of the J&K Judicial Employees Welfare Association, Commissioner/Secretary law is completely mis-guiding the Govt and appears to be more loyal than the king. The result is that the Commissioner/Secretary law has brought the entire judicial system to a stand still.

According to the General Secretary J&K Judicial Employees Welfare Association Mohd Akbar Mir, the judicial staff being the essential component of the judicial service cannot remain isolated of the issues raised by them time to time and association is constrained to come forward against the highhandedness of Commissioner/Secretary law and fight against his evil designs to collapse the judicial system in the state and decided to go on three days token strike.
