Love triangle behind stabbing of Sukhbir
Stabber a brilliant student, raids on to arrest co-accused

JAMMU, July 31: A possible love triangle has come up as the reason behind killing of Sukhbir Singh, a student of Shiksha Nikatan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar on Saturday afternoon.
According to police sources, the revelation was made by the key accused Jaspreet Singh of Bhor Camp. Jaspeet, stabber of Sukhbir, was arrested by the police in yesterday's late hours raid that was conducted at his residence on the disclosure of Iqbal Singh, an eyewitness and friend of deceased Sukhbir Singh.
While raids are still on to arrest another stabber Amandeep Sigh of Chatha Morh, who is absconding after committing the crime.
Police sources said that the accused Jaspreet is a brilliant student studying in Higher Secondary Part-II in Future Pack School and secured 95 percent marks in matriculation,.
According to police sources, Sukhbir of Bishnah had developed love affair with a girl studying in a Shastri Nagar based tuition centre, adjacent to one in which the deceased was studying. Since Jaspreet Singh also have a liking for the same girl therefore jealousy and enmity for Sukhbir developed deep inside him. Sources said that many a times Jaspreet threatened Sukhbir to stay away from the contact of the girl student but the latter took it lightly and kept his relationship with the girl. On Saturday noon when Sukhbir and his friend Iqbal Singh while on their way to tuition centre were intercepted by Jaspreet and his friend Amandeep Singh.
They had heated exchange of words with the deceased. The verbal duel after sometime took an ugly turn when in a fit of anger Jaspreet took out a sharp edged weapon ( kirch) and stabbed Sukhbir to death.
The accused duo later fled from the spot leaving the injured in a pool of blood. The critically injured Sukhbir was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Sources said a case has been registered with the Gandhi Nagar police station in this regard and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the last rites of Sukhbir were performed today at Cremation Ground, Deoli Bishnah.
