Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011 Ascertain weather conditions and check your medical status before proceeding on pilgrimage: CEO | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, AUGUST 1 - Mr. R. K. Goyal, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, has said that as per the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for 2nd to 6th August: the sky is expected to remain mainly clear on 2nd – 3rd August, partly cloudy on 4th August, and there is a possibility of light rain/thundershower on 5th August and rain/thundershowers on 6th August, 2011, in the Kashmir Division. The CEO has once again advised all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji to ascertain the obtaining weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on the pilgrimage. The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in). The CEO also urged all intending pilgrims to have themselves medically examined and no one with an orthopaedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency should venture to undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet. Mr. Goyal said that the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine is progressing satisfactorily on both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes since today morning.
