Sukhbir murder case: As family alleges victim died of doctors' negligence, DC orders probe | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: Following allegations by the family that Sukhbir died of doctors' negligence at the GMC hospital on Saturday last, deputy commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today ordered a probe into the incident. Sukhbir, a 12th class student of a private school, was Saturday stabbed seriously by two youth near Ram Temple at Shastri Nagar here. He was admitted to the GMC hospital where he died.Serious allegations were made by the victim's family and relatives against the doctors and the hospital administration. Amid a demonstration inside the hospital premises, they alleged that Sukhbir died because no senior doctor was available for his treatment.They today called on the deputy commissioner, who ordered additional DC Sheetal Nanda and JMC joint commissioner Charandeep Singh to probe into the alleged incident and submit their report to him within 15 days. When contacted, Verma assured an action against the doctors if they were found guilty. Earlier, they called on GMC principal, Dr Rajinder Singh and brought the matter to his notice.Police have arrested Jaspreet Singh alias JP, son of Trilok Singh of ward No 1, Bhore Camp, who was alleged to be the main accused in the case. Co-accused Amandeep Singh, son of Mohinder Singh of Chatha, was still evading arrest. |
