| Cong protests severe power crises in Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 2:
Angered by frequent power cuts, Congress workers today held a protest demonstration on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Vijaypur, about 30 kms from here.
Hundreds of Congress workers and supporters took out a protest rally on the highway in Vijaypur belt of Samba district, raising anti-power department slogans and demanded shifting of officials from the area.
They tried to block traffic on the highway but police dispersed them. Later the protesters met officials of Power Development Department (PDD) and informed them of their grievances.
