The meeting expressed its grave concern over human rights situation in the State especially in Kashmir and marked that the recent tragedy in Sopore is an inevitable consequences of the result of the brutal use of force by the state government to create false impression of enforced peace.
The meeting expressed condolence to the family of Nazim Rashid, who was torched to death in police custody in Sopore other day. She, as per the schedule, left for Delhi to see off her daughter who is going for higher studies.
Meeting unanimously condemned restricted imposed on the movement of party president Mehbooba Mufti and termed action of the government as undemocratic and uncalled for. Meeting observed the state government trying to gag dissent voice by such oppressive means.
