First batch leaves for “Budda Amarnath” | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 2: The first batch of 250 pilgrims was today left for “Budda Amarnath” under tight security cover from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp here. The holy cave shrine of Budda Amarnath is situated close to Line of Control in border district of Poonch. "The two-week-long yatra, which would conclude on Purnima (full moon) falling on August 13, was flagged off this morning by the Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal early this morning for Poonch amid tight security arrangements," official spokesman said. He said the first batch of 250 pilgrims comprising 184 men, 56 women and 10 children left the base camp in a convoy of 10 vehicles to pay obeisance at the cave shrine of Budda Amarnath.
