Where is HM militant Saleem Javed?
Javed involved in killing, extortion set free by Kishtwar police

kishtwar, Aug 2: In what could be a gross violation of law, Kishtwar police set free HM militant Ajaiz Ahmed Sheikh@Saleem Javed Son of Mohammad Khalil Sheikh Resident of Satarwagan Tehsil Marwah and District Kishtwar after the security forces apprehended him in a joint operation at Marwah on 14-09-2008. Ajaiz Ahmed@Saleem Javed joined HM in the year 1996 and remain an active militant for over a decade spread a reign of terror among the local police. Beside was involved in killing of a civilian as well as extortion of money from the local people in Marwah and Warwan area of Kishtwar District. In one such FIR NO 2/2008 dated 4-3-2008 registered at police station Marwah u/s 302, 7/27 A Act, the said person Ajaiz Ahmed@Saleem Javed along with his other associates among them three were identified as Sameer Ahmed, Ghulam Hussain@ Karri and Tariq Ahmed @Azhar killed 18 year old Nasir Ahmed Wani son of Bhudur Wani resident of Nowgham Marwah. After hectic search security forces in Marwah manage to apprehended Ajaiz Ahmed@Saleem Javed on 14-09-2008 along with one AK 56 riffle bearing No: 26781-R, 30 AK round and one Magazine and subsequently Marwah police presented the accused Ajaiz Ahmed@Saleem Javed before First Class Magistrate Marwah on 17-9-2008 in connection with case FIR NO 2/2008 and requested for 10 police remand which was granted in favour of the police by the Magistrate. After taking the police remand of the accused, he (@Saleem Javed) were taken to Kishtwar on army helicopter for further interrogation so as to ascertain further details about the functioning of HM network in Marwah. It was after the shifting of Ajaiz Ahmed @ Saleem Javed, his whereabouts were not known to any one as he was then set free by police in brazen violation of law since the accused was involved in murder of civilian and it was only the jurisdiction of the honorable session court to grant any bail to the accused. But in case of Ajaiz Ahmed@ Saleem Javed, no one knows on whose direction he (Saleem Javed) was set free. It was also reportedly come to the fore front that the weapon seized from the position of the apprehended militant is also not known.
Meanwhile the aggrieved family has approached the Addition District Magistrate Kishtwar for justice during his visit to Marwah in the month of May 2011 and seeks his intervention in punishing the culprit who was involved in killing and extortion of money from poor people. On the bases of the complaints, ADM Kishtwar initiates Magisterial inquiry into custodial escape of Ajaiz Ahmed @Saleem Javed and subsequently directed the police to submit detail report regarding custodial escape of Ajaiz Ahmed@Saleem Javed, which is still pending even after the lapse of more than 3 months. The aggrieved families have alleged corrupt practice as responsible for release of HM Militant from police custody.
"It was unfortunate night of 3-3-2008, when his brother was shot dead by the militants while he was on its way for offering Isha Nimaz in local mosque at Nowgham village" said the brother of deceased Nasir Ahmed Wani. He said that according police have registered FIR against four militants among them one is Ajaiz Ahmed @ Saleem Javed. He said that even though family members have identified some local peoples involved in killing of his brother, but police neither arrested them nor inquire anything from them. He said that after the arrest of Ajaiz Ahmed@Saleem Javeed, we have seen a ray of hope justice, but Kishtwar police set him free within few days of his arrest even though who is involved in killing of my brother. He said that they have also approach the honorable High Court and even after the direction of Honorable High Court Kishtwar police instead of giving his reply to honorable court, they put pressure on our family to negotiate the issue at local level. "Is murder negotiated that too off a brother" questioned the brother of Nasir Wani. He said that they have full faith in the judicial system of the country and hope that honorable court will delivered his justice and guilty will be punished. He said that since last three years me and my family is approaching the government officers for compensatory benefits under SRO-43, but our applications were misplaced time and again. He said that after the killing of his brother, he and his family was continuously feeling harassed on all fronts. He said that during last three years, they have approached police several time for initiating action against the accused, but police turns deaf ears towards them. He said that his father had undergone through two major heart surgeries. He said that he and his family member's wants justice from the government and hopes that guilty will be punished.
It is worthwhile to mention that other than Saleem Javed, among the three other accused, Ghulam Hussain@Karri and Tariq Hussain@Azhar got killed in an encounter with security forces on 26-5-2009 and 22-01-2010 respectively. Whereas the 3rd accused Sameer is reportedly died after he fall into the river Maroosudar while escaping the security forces.
