DYSS lifts women’s cricket tourney | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, August 03: The women team of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) clinched the senior women’s cricket championship which was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here. In the final, DYSS women outplayed Kashmir University XI by a big 105 runs margin thereby made it a one-sided affair. Earlier, DYSS won the toss and decided to bat first. The splendid innings of 62 runs from Jasia helped the side set a challenging total of 230 runs in given 40 overs. In reply, Kashmir University women could not do well and the whole side bundled out for 125 runs thus lost the match by a huge margin of 105 runs. Later, Jasia of DYSS was adjudged player of the tournament for her all round performance throughout the competition. In all, 14 teams representing different colleges, schools and clubs participated in this knock-out tournament played at provincial level.
