| Court declines telephone facility to accused | | Amandeep murder case | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, August-02 (JNF):- The court of Second Additional Sessions Judge today denied telephone facility to one of the accused in Amandeep murder case. The accused, Nagar Singh presently lodged in Hura Nagar jail filed an application seeking telephone facility to talk to his family.
The court while considering the application observed that the accused is
presently lodged in Sub-Jail Hira Nagar as Under Trial Prisoner and
under Jail Manual for Superintendence and management of jails deals
with sub-jails for facilities as per provisions the telephone facility
to under trial is not provided and there is no such direction
permitting him for telephone facility for conducting his business.
Even a person is jail is not entitled to any such right. The right
which is provided by the jail manual and the facility available under
jail if denied can been enforced by the order court. A facility which
is not provided and to which under trial or convict is not entitled
under jail manual, no direction to provide such facility can be passed
and rejected the application filed by Nagar Singh @ Nago. JNF
