Floriculture deptt organizes training programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Aug 3: The Department of Floriculture Jammu organized a training programme for progressive growers on Aromatic plants in collaboration with Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, GOI under the leadership of Director Floriculture, K.K Sharma at Dera Baba in District Reasi. R K Shrivastava from Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannuj (U.P) delivered a special lecture on Bulgarian Rose, Lavender and motivated the farmers to go for cultivation of aromatic plants for value addition in their traditional farming. Deputy Director, Floriculture, R S Bali said that there is a huge demand of aromatic flowers in perfume industry and their department would provide all types of help and incentives under Centrally sponsored schemes. President flower grower association said that micro climatic condition and rich fertile soil is much more suitable for growing such type of aromatic plant in mounting region of Reasi district and grower of can easily produce aromatic oils and sell it in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
