No let up in protests for Central University
College students across region boycott classes

JAMMU, Aug 3: The protests against delay in functioning of Central University-Jammu (CU-J) and failure to appoint Vice Chancellor for the same continued unabated in different parts of Jammu region today.
There was no let up in anger and resentment over the non-establishment of CU-J as students of GGM Science College, SPMR College of Commerce, GDC Ploura, MAM
PG College, Government Degree College (GDC) Samba, GDC Kathua, GDC Ramnagar, GDC Udhampur and Jammu University held protest demonstrations against Human Resource Development Ministry.
In GGM College students boycotted their classes under the leadership of Shiv Dev Singh.
On the occasion, Sahil Choudhary, Sr. Provincial President National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) addressed the students and said that government must have to take an action in favour of students one day by appointing VC for CUJ. He also said that government is wasting time of students by taking the voice of students lightly. He said that the students of CUK have completed their two session but the students of Jammu region are wasting their time on roads only because of ignorance by the govt. He also warned government that this agitation by students not stops until unless the VC is appointed for CUJ.
In SPMR College of Commerce students boycotted their classes under the leadership of Lovekesh Gondhi, Vicky Singh Bhau and Vishal Sadotra. All the students gathered at the main gate.
Addressing the students Abhay Sharma (Provincial Vice President NPSU) expressed his anguish by stating that the adamant attitude of the central government is causing inordinate delay. It seems the Kashmir centric state government and government of India are hand in glove in the conspiracy to spoil another semester of youth of Jammu which shall not be tolerated even if Jammuites have to pay any sacrifice.
After this students move towards the ever busy Canal road and joined the rally of their counterparts from GGM Sc. College. The irate students tried to block the road which was resited by the police. The action of men in khaki led to a minor clash between the police personnel and students.
GDC Paloura students also boycotted their classes under the leader ship of Devinder Singh, Rahul Sharma and Deepak Sharma. GDC Paloura students too joined the gathering of their colleagues at GGM Science College and SPMR College of Commerce.
Students of MAM College boycotted their classes under the leader ship of Lucky Singh. Protesting students raised slogans against state government and HRD Ministry.
In Jammu University students held a protest under the leadership of Varinder Singh Addressing the students Singh said that the voice of the students being raised in various college and also in JU is a genuine demands and should be taken seriously by the govt but unfortunately it seems that the authorities are not in a mood to hear the voice of agitating students.
Students of GDC Samba, GDC Udhampur, GDC Kathua and GDC Ramnagar also continued their protest against Central, State as well as HRD Ministry.
Meanwhile, the fourth phase of ongoing agitation for CU-J of indefinite relay Hunger Strike at Shaheedi Sthal, GGM Sc. College Jammu today entered the 10th day. Abhay Sharma, Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, Darpan Partap Singh, Lovkesh Gondhi sat on fast who will be replaced by another four activists of NPSU and Youth Panthers tomorrow at 11 am.
Later, addressing a press conference, Provincial President NPSU Partap Singh Jamwal said that Panthers Party is giving a new shape to the protest which is going on for the last 35 days.
Jamwal said that all the MLAs and MPs of Jammu region are not capable to represent Jammuites and their silence over the issue of CU is quite enough to prove this. He said that students of Jammu region are not going to tolerate these fake representatives who fail to represent Jammu region. He said the ongoing agitation will continue and an agitation against such leaders who are touts of govt will also come in effect from tomorrow. He said that the students would again boycott classes tomorrow and they will protest against such leaders by breaking bangles which would be parcelled to the houses of these leaders.
Meanwhile, relay hunger strike of Jammu Province Peoples today entered 10th day while sitting at Raja Jambulochan Memorial parks Purani Mandi Jammu.

Singh President All J&K Sikh Progressive Front, Comrade Sukhdev Singh
General Secretary, Balbir Singh, Pritam Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Jaspal Singh Mangal President Sikh Intellectual forum, Jagjit Singh member Bharti Swabhiman Niyas of Pitanjali Yog Peeth with its President Amrjit Singh, Muminder Singh, Capt. Hans Raj, Ashok Kumar, Pawan Singh and K K Proch President Bharti Kissan Sabha and Satish Bharti.
Next batch to sit on hunger strike tomorrow include Sanatan Dharam Sabha’s President J.C Dogra, General Secretary Jagdish Sharma, Bodh Raj Sharma, Bhoomi Chand Sharma, Deepak, Prem Khajuria besides New Young Blood Association president Ashok Verma and Vipul Shastri.
Meanwhile, in another development Central University Joint Action Committee (CUJAC) - an amalgam of ten student and non-political organizations made a strong protest in the University of Jammu and raised anti Vice-Chancellor slogans against the lathicharge by the University Police on the students and make a complete bandh in the University of Jammu. Students boycotted the classes and ask for mass agitation if the proper inquiry will not be carried out regarding the inhuman action of the Police. The large number of Female and male students lodge their protest and made anti Chancellor and Vice chancellor slogan in the University. Students ask for immediate removal of Varun Sahni and termed him as a dictator , sycophant, undemocratic Vice Chancellor who has degrade the university in every sphere whether it is research , academics or examination.
CUJAC also condemned the statement of Vice Chancellor Jammu University for justifying the police action against students on campus.
Briefing the media the CUJAC mentor Ajay Taloor said that JU is completely failed administration who has no command on the security of the Jammu University. Ajay Taloor asked for immediate action on the policemen who involved in the lathicharge on the peaceful protest of the students.
