| Govt distribute scholarships among IGNOU students | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 3:
Scholarship distribution function was organised at IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu at SPMR College of Commerce premises, Canal Road, Jammu today where Post-Matric Scholarships worth Rs 99550 were distributed among 23 IGNOU students belonging to the SC category by the Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of J&K.
While scholarships worth Rs 172500 were distributed among 10 IGNOU students belonging to ST category by the Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Govt of J&K Veena Gupta and Anju Bala from
Department of Social Welfare were present on the occasion Dr Indrani Lahiri, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Vikram Singh and Anju Bala from IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu were also present on the occasion. The students belonging to Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kargil and other districts of J&K received the Scholarship Cheques during the occasion.
The students are enrolled with IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu in various disciplines like Economics, Sociology, Cyber Law, Disaster Management, Dietetics & Food Services Management, Psychology, Tourism, Political Science, Public Administration and Education for Bachelors as well as Masters Degree Programmes. In addition to the reimbursement of fee, the Directorate of Tribal Affairs and Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of J&K, Jammu is also compensating some Maintenance Allowance to these students.
