| Ahead of I Day LeT militant arrested in Jammu | | | Jammu: A Lashker-e -Toiba militant who went underground from Reasi for the last three years had been arrested from Belicharana area along with his father in law and wife by sleuths of Special Operation Group (SOG) here today. The catch has been made just few days ahead of Independence Day, sources said.
Identified as Mushtaq Ahmed alias Mustafa of village Budhan, Reasi who remained active from 2004 in Reasi district went under ground in 2008 which made the security agencies on toe.
Sources said that during his operational days he remained involved in several killings.
Mustafa was also involved in several encounters with security forces on many occasions but he managed to give a slip to the troops. He is also stated to be the close confidante of four top commanders of LeT.
Today on specific information SOG sleuths conducted a raid in Beli Charana area falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station and arrested him. The militant, sources said, was living in a house with his wife when arrested. Sources said that after escaping from Reasi he reached Jammu and started working as a servant in a residential house in Beli Charana. Later he solemnized marriage with the girl of his master and settled in the same area. The interrogation of the militant is also in progress in safe house of SOG till late hours to elicit more information and their imminent nefarious design. The cross questioning of his father in law and wife was also on to reach the depth of the investigation. It is also reported that police also seized some incriminating documents from his procession, sources maintained. |
