Possibility of rain, thundershowers on August 7, 9 | Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011 | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 4: Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has said that as per the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for 5th to 9th August: the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy on 5th – 6thAugust, and there is a possibility of light rain/thundershower on 7th August and generally cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers on 8th – 9th August, 2011, in the Kashmir Division.
The CEO has once again advised all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji to ascertain the obtaining weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on the pilgrimage. The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in).
The CEO also urged all intending pilgrims to have themselves medically examined and no one with an orthopedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency should venture to undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet.
Meanwhile, the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine has been progressing satisfactorily on both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes since today morning.
