| CPI (M) deplores demand for division of J&K | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 4: Regional committee of CPI (M) has criticized demand of
bifurcation or trifurcation or reorganization of the J&K state by some
political parties and individuals.
In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that a meeting of
Jammu Regional Committee of CPI (M) was held in its office chamber
under the chairmanship of comrade Sham Prasad Kesar, its regional
Secretary wherein the demand was strongly rebutted. It added that
division will not help in the resolution of Kashmir problem.
He said that this would have disastrous consequences for the whole of
south Asian region, apart from causing a permanent damage to the
social fabric of the state of Jammu and Kashmir itself. An
irreversible movement for a genuine sharing of power is the means to
put together the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This means a Federal
Structure, not only at the state level but in each region itself is
need of the hour, added the leader.
