| Lala Kanayia Lal education trust presents meritorious awards | | |

Tenth annual award presentation function was organized by Lala Kanayia Lal Education Trust Mahanpur at Government higher Secondary School mahanpur in Tehsil Basholi today.
Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports and ARI, Mr. Babu Singh was the chief guest and Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz was the guest of honour the occasion. Chairman of Education Trust Mr. Gupta presided over the function.
The trust is named after a great educationist and social worker Late Mr. Kanayia Lal who worked for educational upliftment of the rural masses. This trust presents meritorious awards/scholarship to the students who top their classes in academics and bring laurels in the district to in still the sense of the competitiveness amont the students.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Babu Singh recalled the efforts of the Late Educationist who worked with endeavour to infuse educational spirit and said that such personalities must be remembered and their followed.
Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz while speaking on the occasion paid rich tributes to Lala kanayia Lal who worked for awakening the illiterate masses and diverted them towards education. The present coalition government is committed to provide education opportunities to every section of society and a net work of educational institution has come up during last few years, the minister added.
Earlier the Ministers inaugurated an X-Ray Machine at Primary Health Centre mahanpur.
The Uttam Vidyarthi award was presented to Mahima Sharma D/O of Sh. Tara Chand of R.S Jagritia Niketan Kathua for securing first position in matriculation in the district.
Mr. Abhinav Sharma and Renuka Sharma were awarded Lakshya merit scholarship and Shrimati Ishwri Devi Scholarship respectively. Mr. Arif malik was presented scholarship for topping in the 10+2 in the district.
Financial assistance, books and uniforms were also presented to various students on the occasion. Rtd. Master Rattan Chand Gupta was honoured for distinguished services in education and Mr. Kuldeep Kumar teacher for environment activies.
Mr. M. R. Vaid thanked the guest on the occasion and gave a brief resume of activities of the trust.
