| Dy CM reviews civic projects of Srinagar | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 4: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand Thursday said that government is committed to provide all civic amenities to the people living in capital cities and towns. He was addressing a high level meeting here today which was convened to review the pace of progress of various developmental projects under execution in Srinagar City. It was given out in the meeting that work is in progress on 271 various developmental works costing Rs. 15.80 crore in Municipal areas of Srinagar City.
Giving details, the Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation Sheikh Mushtaq said that 10 community halls are at different stages of execution at a total cost of Rs. 6.50 crore at Elahi Bagh Buchpora, Nowshehra Zadibal, Basant Bagh, Bhagwanpora, Nawabazar and other prominent places of the city. Each Community centre has two marriage halls with utility facilities and is spacious enough to provide feast to 400 persons at one sitting. It was also informed in the meeting that 5 Information Technology facility centres are coming up at a cost of Rs 2.50 crore at Harwan, Buchpora, Panthchowk, Zadibal and Hawal. On completion of these centres, birth certificates and building permissions would be provided from these centres. Under Capital City Development Programme, it was stated that work is apace on 256 various developmental works including lanes, drains and lavatory blocks at a cost of Rs. 6.80 crore. Of these works 73 have been completed, 89 are in progress and 94 are being taken up during current financial year.
