| Two LeT militants gunned down in Kishtwar | | | Kishtwar / Jammu: Police and security forces achieved a major success by eliminating self styled District Commander and Deputy Commander of Pakistani based outfit Lashker-e-Toiba organization in Keshwan area in the mountainous district of Kishtwar today.
The slain terrorist have been identified as self styled District Commander Habib @ Salman son of Khairdin resident of village Sarawan Keshwan and his deputy Commander Irshad Ahmed Kohli son of Jamal Din Gujjar of Kohli Mohalla Chatroo.
Addressing the media persons, IGP Dilbag Singh said that police has recovered one AK 56 rifle 3 magazines of AK rifles, 134 rounds of AK, 2 Chinese grenades, 2 matrix sheets and some Strategic maps supplied to the slain commander from across the border of JK, Doda and Kishtwar areas probably supplied from across the border from the possession of slain ultras.
Singh said that on a specific information SP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tutti alongwith A joint operation was launched by lunched by Army (11RR), Kishtwar Police, 174 BN CRPF and CID(CI) Kishtwar laid a cordon around the house of Mohammad Ammin Qazi at around 2.30 AM on Thursday Morning. After laying successful cordon around the suspected house, extra deployment were rush to the spot and after the first ray of light, the security forces zeroed on the house where the militants were believed to be hiding and at around 10.30, the security forces established the contact with the militants and on challenging the militants opened fire at the security forces which was equally retaliated by the security forces. Around 1.30 PM security forces after heavy exchange of firing manage to eliminate one of the two militants, where as the 2nd one continues fighting with light weight weapons before he too was eliminated at around 2.30 PM. After the elimination of both the militants, the security forces finally called off the operation at 3.30 PM when they were fully satisfied that there was only two militants hiding inside and cleared the area by then. He said that on identification of both they were identified as "A+" category LeT District Commander Habib Gujjar@Salman son of Kher Din Gujjar Resident of Nagnigard Keshwan and his associate Irshad Ahmed Kholi son of Jamal Din Kholi resident of Sangpora Chatroo. He said that Habib Gujjar@Samlan was involved in 6 FIR's including killing of the mother of STF Incharge Qasim Din. He said that Habib Gujjar@Salam was in the position of recruiting the new youths in LeT and during last few months as many as 5 newly LeT recruiters recruited by Habib Gujjar@Salman got killed in various encounter with security forces, where as one newly recruited Ab Jabbar involved in beheading of Congress leader Abdul Gani was captured alive by the security forces. He said that with the elimination of Habib Gujjar@Salman, the LeT was finally got wiped out from Kishtwar District. As far as Irshad Ahmed Kholi is concerned. Today's success come on close heel after the successful elimination of HM deputy Divisional Commander Subash Kumar Shan@Wasif, who got killed in an encounter with security forces last week at Marwah. SP Kishtwar along with Commanding officer 11RR personally remains present at the site of operation and successfully supervised it, till it comes to an end. |
