PDP leaders pay rich tribute to Bakshi Abdul Qayoom | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, August 5: A delegation of senior PDP leaders and members went to house of late Bakshi Ab Qayoom at Sonwar to pay tribute to the deceased and condolence to the bereaved family. The delegation was headed by General Secretary PDP Dilawar Mir accompanying chief spokespersons, Nayeem Akhter, MLC ,district President Mohd Ashraf Mir, Mohd Altaf Bukhari and other party members. Expressing profound grief and shock on the demise of late Bakhshi, the delegation said, it is well acknowledged fact that Bakshi Ab Qayoom’s unmatching voluntary services at all levels are self explanatory that how he always shows concerns for the issues of society. The delegation said, it is a huge loss to the society and his death has created a vacuum which is hard to fill. Such philanthropic personalities are rarely found. He was not mere rhetoric but believed in doing things by himself. He was the Treasurer of the society who played an important role in consolidating the Blood Bank movement in valley and had himself donated blood 38 times to save precious lives. Foundation of Cancer Society of Kashmir to help the needy and poor patients suffering from the fatal disease is another milestone in the social work done by him. Among the delegates included, secretary Coordination Ab Hameed Kosheen, Nisar Ahmed Mandoo, Ab Hameed Guroo, Ashok Bhat, Nanajee Wattal, Ali Mohd Baba, Showkat Hafiz, Imtiyaz Khan and Jahangir Wani. |
