President XI Reds win by 6 wkts in Tickoo Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, August 05: Sailing on superb performance from duo of Deepak Manhas and Vimarsh Kaw, President XI Reds today registered an impressive six-wicket win over Treasurer XI Blues in the opening match of the RC Tickoo Memorial Cricket Tournament at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here. While Deepak helped the side through his brilliant bowling spell of four wickets, Vimarsh hit fine fifty to guide the side overhaul the opponent total, rather easily. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Treasurer XI bowled out for 202 runs in given 40 overs, which, in reply, President XI chased in 36 overs for the loss of four wickets. Imraj Thakur was highest scorer with 46 runs in his account. From President XI, Deepak Manhas was most successful bowler, who clinched four wickets. Later, President XI Reds chased the target making 205 runs in 36 overs with six wickets in hand. Vimarsh Kaw played superb innings of 66 runs to power his side to a big win. Sameer Ali claimed two wickets from Treasurer XI Blues. In all, eight teams, four each from Jammu and Valley, are taking part in this knock-out tournament, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). NEXT MATCH: General Secretary XI Reds shall take on Chairman XI Blues at 8 am tomorrow.
