GoI forget Rs 10 Cr grant for Rajouri Hospital | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Aug 5 Centre government has perhaps forgotten to provide balance amount of approved Rs 10 crore for Mission District Hospital Rajouri which is lingering on for the last 9 months with work stopped on the prestigious project in December 2010 after its agency Jammu & Kashmir Project Construction Corporation faced financial constraints. Sources said that that Government of India has failed to release an amount of Rs 10 Crore under National Rural Health Mission for construction of the additional blocks of prestigious Rs 36 crore District Hospital Rajouri project which was initiated by then Chief Minister and present Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and its one block inaugurated recently by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. According to sources in JKPDC, Government has not given them Rs 10 crore which forced them to stop the construction work of this project. The Hospital block of OPD, doctors quarters and some important departments had to be shifted to the new building but due to delay in its work, these departments are been managed from the already constructed building. According to sources this Hospital was scheduled to get ready in 2009 but its one block become ready last year which was inaugurated and made functional for public use. However with delay in NHRM funds, JKPDC is hapless to initiate work on these projects. |
