| Vehicle lifters gang busted, 2 held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
ANANTNAG, Aug 5:
Police have arrested two vehicle lifters and claimed to solve around a dozen cases, here on Friday.
The accused, Nisar Ahmad Bhat of Marhama Sangam and Gh Qadir Tarray of Shaligam Sirhama are in police custody and thirteen motorbikes were recovered from them.
Deputy Superintend Headquarters, Tahir Jeelnai said the gang had a very peculiar modus operandi as after stealing the motorbikes, one of them used to sell in the different areas of city. He said a team headed by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad arrested the duo when they were riding a bike in Shaligam Sirhama area and after interrogation they confessed their involvement in number of vehicle lifting cases. Police recovered 13 motorbikes from their possession.
A case FIR 270/11 under section 379 RPC has been registered at Police station Anantnag. |
