Fresh batch of 498 Yatris leave for Buddha Amarnath

JAMMU, Aug 5: A fresh batch of 498 devotees today left for Buddha Amarnath cave shrine in Poonch district amid tight security arrangements from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar Base camp here.
"A batch of 498 pilgrims this morning left for the cave shrine in Poonch district in a convoy of 13 vehicles," an official spokesman said. They said escorted by security personnel, pilgrims comprising 378 men, 90 females and 30 children left for the shrine.
Buddha Amarnath shrine of Lord Shiva is located in picturesque mountainous belt of Mandi area near Indo-Pak border in Poonch district. The yatra will conclude on August 13 - the day of Sharvan Purnima
