| Central Team reviews Horticulture Mission Programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, AUGUST 06–A central team led by Programme Director, Agriculture Finance Corporation, Government of India, Dr. B. R. Ganeshan today reviewed achievements under Horticulture Mission Programme in Jammu region.
Divisional Level Officers of Horticulture Department Jammu, besides Chief Horticulture Officers from across the region attended the meeting which reviewed the Impact Evaluation of Mini Mission-II (MM-II) under Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (Technology Mission).
Director Horticulture, Jammu, Mr. J. L. Sharma was also present in the meeting.
Dr. Ganeshan discussed in detail the purpose of conducting of evaluation at the grass root level. He said such evaluations are conducted to know the qualitative as well as quantitative impact in respect of production and productivity of fruit crops and livelihood of the farming community.
During the meeting major constrains/bottlenecks being faced b while implementing different centrally sponsored schemes were also discussed in detail by the participating officers with the visiting team. The meeting was informed that while formulation of 12th Five Year Plan, the impact evaluation report will be taken into consideration by the Planning Commission of India.
Director Horticulture, Jammu thanked the visiting team for providing valuable information to the state horticulture functionaries about the implementation of the centrally sponsored scheme under Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States.
