| Another accused in Bakra murder case arrested with weapon of offence | | |

While the prime accused in Bakra murder case were brought to Jammu by a special police team from Delhi, this morning, police arrested another accomplice of the accused and was searching for five persons, including a female Bachelor of Education (Bed) student, who allegedly played main role in the conspiracy
Highly placed sources in the police department said that Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan Cheer and Vishal alias Vicky Thakur have confessed the commission of murder and have revealed the entire story before the police.
Based upon the disclosure of the accused, an auto driver Sonu was today arrested by the police from Samba from whose possession two revolvers allegedly used for murder were recovered, official sources said.
With the arrest of Sonu the police have claimed to have completed the investigation of the case and has fanned at least three team in various direction to apprehend other conspirators including a female.
Sources disclosed that Monika a female student of BEd, who is said to be a resident of Talab Tillo area, was used by the prime conspirator Palla, to trap the deceased Sanjay Sharma alias Bakra, who was once the close associate of the accused.
Official sources said that the conspiracy was hatched by Palla along with Mohan Jhir and Vicky. When the conspiracy was being hatched Palla, once the close associate of the deceased, suggested that the only way to trap Bakra was to use a girl. Following this Palla took the help of his girlfriend, Monika, who started talking with the deceased on phone.
On the fateful day of Nov 25, the girl called Bakra and asked him to meet her at the clinic of Dr Kudiyar, where her mother was being treated. Palla followed the movement of Bakra and Kapil joined him in the way.
Mohan Jhir and Vicky, police added, were already waiting at the clinic. “When Bakra reached at the clinic Vicky informed his associate Mohan on phone”, sources said adding, “Mohan came out and tried to fire upon Bakra but incidentally the gun was locked”.
Sensing himself to be in trouble, the deceased caught hold of Mohan and both of them fell down from the stairs following a scuffle. In the meantime, Vicky took out his gun and fired two shots at Bakra. Mohan reacted immediately and fire another shot from his gun on the forehead of the deceased, sources said.
The accused have told the police in custody, they fled on a scooter from the spot of crime. The scooter, which was left by the accused, was today recovered by the police from Kunjwani area, added the sources.
The accused, police added, handed over weapon of offence to Sonu at Samba before fleeing to Dalhousie. The accused further revealed that from Dalhousie they left for Jalandhar and then Delhi, from where the duo was arrested.
Police was now searching other conspirators including Deepu, Palla, Kapil and female student Monika. |
