| DIG Rly Security visits GR Police Lines | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 6: DIG Railways Security Ashok Kumar Atri, today visited Government Railway Police (GRP)Lines Jammu. During visit to Lines he visited Kot, MT Section, clothing and equipment store, Jawans’ mess, Recreation Hall and barracks of jawans.
He instructed SSP GRP Jammu and Dy SP GRP Lines Jammu to issue uniform and other articles to Jawans on time and improve their living condition so that they can stay comfortably after performing hectic duties.
DIG Railways also went to Kathua by train. SSP GRP Jammu accompanied him. During his journey, he interacted with various guards deployed on track for security. At Kathua he had a meeting with officers of RPF and GRP. SSP GRP and SDPOs were also present in the meeting. DIG directed SSP GRP to identify the locations where the accommodation for Jawans can be created as DGP J&K is deeply concerned about the accommodation for GRP. He has already directed DIG Railways to identify the locations so that prefabricated huts can be erected to make the stay of jawans comfortable.
On way back to Jammu DIG visited PP GRP Budhi, PP Chann Arorian, PP Hiranagar, PP GRP Samba and PP GRP Vijaypur. He held meeting with SDPO
Vijaypur and other officers about the security of Railway track.
Seeing the speed of construction of building for accommodation of GRP, DIG directed SSP GRP to arrange his meeting with the Chief Engineer of Construction Div of Railways for Speedy completion of construction work.
