8/6/2011 10:04:13 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
AKHNOOR, August 06: Outplaying Adarsh Warriors by four wickets in the final, Singh’s XI clinched the Akhnoor Premier League which was organised by 10 Infantry Division of Crossed Sword under Operation Sadbhavana at Army School, here today.

After winning the toss, Singh’s XI chose to field first. The decision favoured Singh’s XI when Pankaj in the very first over of the innings sent three batsmen to the pavilion.
Other incoming batsmen too could not do well and at the end of third over, Adarsh Warriors were struggling at eight for four. However, half century by Mukesh helped the side bring the total to 160 all out in 18 overs.

In reply, Singh’s XI made a poor start losing their opener in first over. But Sumit played a match winning knock of 64 runs thereby guiding the side to a four wickets win. Singh’s XI attained the goal with nine balls to spare.
Sunny of Singh’s XI was named man of the series and best batsman of the tournament. Captain Rao of Chenab Gunners was declared best bowler.
