Dy CM, other ministers interact with Chamber representatives | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, AUGUST 06- Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand, today had an interaction with the representatives of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry(JCCI), and other traders organization and listened to their problems and grievances. Minister for Medical Education R. S. Chib, Minister for Health, Floriculture and Horticulture Mr. Sham Lal Sharma and Minister of State for Power Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan were also present on the occasion. The purpose of the interaction programme, convened by JCCI, was to apprise the Deputy Chief Minister and other Ministers about the grievances and problems being faced by the Business Community in general and Jammu region in particular. President, Chamber of Commerce in his inaugural address informed the group of Ministers about the problems being faced by Business Community of Jammu region. Various demands and grievances were put forth before the Deputy Chief Minister which mainly include uninterrupted power supply to the Industrial area of Jammu region, expansion of Jammu Airport, early completion of major projects in Jammu city like Super Specialty Hospital, Artificial Lake, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, widening of B.C. Road, flyover from Vikram Chowk to onwards, Bahu Fort Gandola Project, Convention Centre at State Guest House, sewerage project, Central University issue, etc. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that the coalition government was committed for equitable development of all three region of the State adding that the UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has been providing liberal funding to the state so that the prestigious projects being executed in the State will be completed in a time bound manner. He said that the work on construction of artificial lake in Jammu is in full swing adding that after its completion, it would become a major attraction for the tourists and locals besides adding to the attraction of the city. Deputy Chief Minister also informed that construction of 4th bridge over Tawi is also in progress and would be completed in a time bound manner. He said that the government has also earmarked Rs 35 crore for construction of 3-tier parking at General Bus Stand Jammu to tackle the traffic problem in the city of temples. With regard to the functioning of the Central University, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the participants that issue will be soon resolved. Sham in his address informed that the state and central government is keen to resolve the issue of central university on priority and the process of appointing Vice Chancellor has already been started. Among others, Vice Chairman JDA Vinod Sharma, Commissioner JMC S. C. Sawhney, Chairman Federation Industry Mr. T. S. Reen, President Bari Brahmna Anil Suri, Tara Chand Gupta, Ram Sarup, Satish Gupta, Manish Gupta, Deepak Aggarwal from Chamber of Commerce were present on the occasion.
