DPS Student wins 1st prize of Rs. 10,000 in "Young Editors" competition

Jammu, August 6: "Young Editors "(Yuva Sampadak) competition was organised by National
Hindi Daily News Paper "Dainik Jagran" where many students from different
schools had participated. First prize was won by Miss Isha Sharma of Class
IX of DPS, Jammu. She got Rs. 10,000 Cheque and a certificate. 2nd prize was
won by Pallavi Gupta of Class X of Shangrilla Higher Secondary School. She
received Rs. 5,000 cheque and certificate while Karan Gupta of XII Class of
SGGSPS won 3rd prize. He got Rs. 2000 and certificate. While three
consolation prizes of Rs. 1000/- each were also won by Amit Parihar of JNV
Udhampur, Gursimran Singh of Future Pack School and Daval Pargal of Army
School Kaluchak. 125 students of different schools participated in the
compitition.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest on
the occasion. While distributing prizes among winnere he spoke very high
about DPS, Jammu as it has always been a leading esteemed institution not
only in academics but also in curricular and cocurricular activities.
Earlier programme began with lighting of lamp by Chief guest, Principal DPS,
Jammu, Editor and General Manager Dainik Jagran and others. Later Saraswati
Vandana and cultural programmes presented by the students of DPS Jammu and
SGGSPS. All these programmes were highly appreciated by the chief guest, all
dignitaries, parents of the participant students and staff.
Sudarshan Sonar, Principal DPS Jammu welcomed the Chief guest and thanked
him for sparing his valuable time out of his busy schedule. Sonar also
informed the gathering that DPS Jammu and Dainik Jagran have strong belief
in young talent and as such have always strived to educate the students to
become good citizens and creditable individual. Sonar also congratulated the
winners and participant students.
The programme concluced with the distribution of prizes to the winners by
the Chief guest, Principal DPS, Jammu, Abhimanyu Sharma, Editor and General
Manager, Dainik Jagran, Arun Choudhary, News Editor, CL Malhotra,
Administrator, DPS, Jammu and others. Divisional Commissioner Dr Pawan
Kotwal congratulated and conveyed their blessings to the winners and all
other participants.
MK Ajatshatru Singh, President RCT, Ritu Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson Delhi
Public School, Jammu and SS Sodhi Director, DPS Jammu also congratulated and
conveyed their blessings to the winners and all other participants.
