| FIR lodged against cong leader, people agitate against negligent docs | | Twist in murder case | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 6: Thousands of workers of Congress held protest
demonstration against district administration for directing police to
lodge FIR against Congress leader Surinder Singh Shingari. The
protestors also raised slogans against alleged defunct GMC hospital
administration which, according to them failed to check the negligence
on the part of doctors.
In the protest rally which started from Rajinder Park and culminated
at Vishal Mega Mart,Bakshi Nagar, the vehicular traffic remained
paralyzed.People demanded inquiry against the doctors whose negligence
alleged led to death of a 12th class student.
Pertinent to mention here that a student namely Sukhbir Singh was
stabbed by two students at Shastri Nagar area few days ago .He was
rushed to the GMC hospital where due to alleged doctors negligence, he
succumbed to injuries.
Following the incident, a protest demonstration was held. A judicial
inquiry was ordered by DC Jammu which was opposed by doctors of GMC
hospital and
they went on strike.
Later, Bakshi Nagar police lodged FIR against
Congress leader Surinder Singh Shingari for abetting people to hold
protest against doctors. Sources said that a police team today went
to arrest the Congress leader to his residence but could not arrest him.
