| Janata Dal (U) supports CU-J agitation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 7:
Jammu & Kashmir Janata Dal (United) strongly favoured the ongoing protests by all concerned ones in support of the starting of Central University Jammu (CU-J) and the just demand to appoint a local as its first Vice Chancellor.
Addressing the media persons here today, state President Janata Dal (U) Inder Mohinder Tar Singh strongly condemned the way this issue is being dealt with and the atrocities on the protestors by the state government.
We are highly concerned with the future of Jammu. This is strange that all over India the appointment of respective Vice-Chancellors is being done by the Govt of India and the state governments do not interfere but here the state government does a lot to get their own blue eyed persons. If state government has concern with the Jammuites then it should immediately resolve this issue.
Tar suggested that an all party meeting should be called to settle the issue soon.
