| Sanjay, Ranjodh win senior gold in Judo | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, August 07: Sanjay Khajuria and Ranjodh Singh won gold medal in 66 kg and 73 kg categories of senior group respectively in the 2nd Anil Basotra Memorial Open Judo Championship which was organised by senior players at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
In girls open category, Yashika Jamwal clinched gold beating Komal in the final. The third place in this group was shared by Neetu Rani and Rayal Gupta.
Today’s bouts were officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, Jugal Kishore, Rameshwar Singh (all NIS qualified coaches) and Bansi Lal.
In the valedictory function, Inspector General of Police, Dilbag Singh was chief guest, who presented medals to the winners of different weight categories. He also witnessed final bouts in senior boys’ category.
Later, speaking to the organizers, IGP appreciated the efforts of the senior players and complimented the medal winners.
Among others present were general secretary of J&K Judo Association, R C Thakur, senior players, Varinder Dogra, Rohit Gupta, Vikas Gupta, Rohit Sadhotra, Rajesh Verma, Shuna and Sanjay Khajuria.

Senior Boys: 66 kg: Sanjay Sharma, Ist; Vivek, 2nd ; Aman and Sunil, joint 3rd. 73 kg: Ranjodh Singh, Ist; Arunesh Sareen, 2nd; Shubankar Baru and Ankit Sharma, joint 3rd.
Open Girls: Yashika Jamwal, Ist; Komal, 2nd; Neetu Rani and Payal Gupta, joint 3rd.
BOYS: 14 year: 45-50 kg: Virbadra Singh, Ist; Aditya Mahajan, 2nd; Akshay Chander and Ram Raj, joint 3rd.
