Congress to bring 73rd Amendment in Panchyati Raj | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Aug 7 (KNS): State Congress president and MP, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz Sunday said his party would strive to empower sarpanchs and panchs by bringing in the provision of 73rd Amendment of the Constitution of India into state’s Panchayati Raj Act. Prof Soz flanked by Minister of PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation Taj Mohi-ud-Din, and Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla was addressing a public meeting in Langate area of north Kashmir’s Kuwpara district. Responding to the demands of the people of Langate Prof Soz said that demands for Munsiff Court and Tehsil office at Langate removal of stone crushers, completion of sub-district hospital building as early as possible and removal of scarcity of drinking water and irrigation. “All these demands are genuine and would be resolved as early as possible,” Prof Soz assured the people. On the occasion, Taj Mohi-u-din assured the people that he would get the entire area of Langate surveyed for improving facilities in respect of irrigation and drinking water. He also assured the people that he would consider setting up of PHE sub-division at Langate. Raman Bhalla in his speech assured the people that the demands of Langte for setting up of Tehsil and Munsiff Court at Langte would be taken up in the Cabinet with his full support. (KNS)
