JPPF relay hunger strike for CU-J continues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, August 7: Jammu Province People's Forum (JPPF) relay hunger strike in protest against delay in establishment of Central University-Jammu (CU-J) and appointment of its Vice Chancellor entered 14th day while sitting at Raja Jambulochan Memorial Park, Purani Mandi Jammu. The forum members, who sat on hunger strike include members of Bar Association Jammu B.S. Salathia (President), M.U. Salaria (Vice President), Vikram Sharma (General Secretary), Perimoksh Seth (Jt. Secretary), Onkar Seth, Rohan Nanda, Young Lawyer Association, Vikush Anand, Deepak Baloria, Baldev Singh, Nitin Gupta, Ashok Khajuria, Devinder Singh, Amit Gupta and Surinder Gupta (Social Activist). The organizations/sabhas which participated in moral support by sitting along with fasting leaders include Chairman of JPPF Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj, Inderjeet Khajuria President All Hotels and Lodges Association, Th. Speaking on the occasion, Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj urged the Union HRD Minister to expedite the orders of appointment of Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu without further delay. Now when the name of would be Vice Chancellor of Central University Jammu has been made public and even the political parties, particularly constituents of coalition Government have broken silence, JPPF feels that whole of the Jammu Province has assembled at one platform for the cause of establishment of CUJ. It is definitely a healthy sign of unity. The voice of Political Parties even at this stage of struggle Jammuites and Student community is welcome but they will be well advised to exhibit unity to address other burning problems of Jammu region as well. The next batch to sit on hunger strike tomorrow would be represented by Dogra Libration Front headed by its president Ram Paul Sharma. Kuldip Raj Deep, Gurmeet Singh, Kapil Dev Sharma, Pinki Bandral, Amit Kesar and Rajesh Kesar will be the other members.
