| Cop atrocity? Youth beaten up badly in Chatha PP | | | JAMMU : In a suspected case of police atrocity, a youth who was arrested on the charges of dispute with his own family members was badly thrashed by the police in Police Post Chatha falls under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station here today.
The incident came to light when the youth Harjeet Singh (26) was admitted to the government hospital, Gandhi Nagar .After the youth told the doctors and nurses attending him that the police had severally beaten him at the Chatha police post.
Speaking to journalists at the hospital, the youth claimed, "Late on
Saturday night, a team of police picked me from my residence and took me to the police post and thrashed me badly, though no case has been registered I was illegally confined." said injured.
When contacted, SP South Rajeshwer Singh said that the matter is to be inquired. |
