Dissention allowing NC to take cong for ride | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 8: As long as tussle between dissidents and loyalists in the state unit of Congress continues, National Conference, which shares power with the Congress, will keep on taking its partner for a ride. Sources in the congress said that the National Conference leaders in general and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in particular have been treating Congress "shabbily." They said that despite repeated pleas from the Congress, Chief Minister had opposed expansion of the council of Ministers he heads. Sources said that had the Chief Minister agreed to expand the cabinet, congress would have secured two out of three vacant seats. They said that it is because of these developments that the state unit of the Congress has been favoring rotational Chief Minister. Congress sources said that besides Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary, the Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who heads dissidents in the state unit. Party sources said that Azad is not in favour of Saif-ud-Din Soz or any leader from the camp of loyalists to occupy the chief Minister's chair. Another senior Congress leader said that Azad is opposed to any revival of alliance between the Congress and PDP. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
