| Verma describes panchayats vital in development | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, AUGUST 08-Vice Chairman, Development Board for OBC, Mr Kulkeep Raj Verma today said that the coalition government is paying focused attention on ensuring better basic amenities to the people especially under privileged sections of the society.
The VC was addressing a public gathering at Akhnoor.
Verma said that a powerful Panchayat Raj is Coalition government’s commitment and the days are not far off when the grass root public representatives would rule the roast so far as public service delivery and plan formulation is concerned. He said that Panchayats would be involved in the sectors of health, education, CAPD, Water supply, Power, social welfare and road communication for better results. He also referred to the vision of late Prime Minister, Mr. Rajeev Gandhi about empowering people through a Panchayat system and said that by holding Panchayat election in the state after 33 years the coalition government has made a historic mark.
