Murder accused still at large, police clueless
8/8/2011 9:39:46 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 8: Even after one week of the murder of a 12th standard boy Sukhbir Singh, the police failed to attest the other accused Amardeep Singh, whereas the investigations are still going on.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sukhbir, a 20 year a resident of Deoli Bishnah, along with his friends, had gone to Shastri Nagar to
take tuitions on July 31 when the incident took place.
Pertinently, the three friends were intercepted by two youths,
Jaspreet Singh and Amandeep Singh on motorcycle, and Sukhbir was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon by Jaspreet.
The police was also conducting raids and arrested Jaspreet but unable to catch the other accused.
His father Inderpal alleged that the doctors at Government District Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, and Government Medical College and Hospital
did not provide timely treatment to Sukhbir and as a result, he died due to excessive blood loss.
It is also important to mention here that Deputy Commissioner (DC)Jammu, Sanjeev Verma constituted a committee led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sheetal Nanda and ADC Municipal Charandeep Singh to inquire into the murder of the youth.
A senior doctor said that there the injured boy shifted not on time to the hospital due to which he died.
When contacted Station House Officer (SHO), Gandhi Nagar Sajjad Ahmed said that the investigations of the case are still going on and the department is searching the second accused Amardeep Singh.
“The department is taking the statements of all the witness of the murder” he added.
Sources said that the murder has once again shown that crime in the city is on rise and fall in the social values. They said that the youth were quite young students and had tiff with each other, but the
issue is that how low the moral values have been nowadays.
Sources said that this murder also shows the efficiency of the police which has so far failed to arrest the accused even after a week.
DC, Jammu Sanjeev Verma said the inquiry was formed to trace out the wether it is murder or accident, but now it is clearly visible that this was a murder.
“Now the main thing which has to focus is to arrest the second accused of the murder” Verma added.
