Future strategy on Aug 11: JPPF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 8: Jammu Province Peoples Forum--a conglomerate of several social, trade, religious and political organisations spearheading its agitation over the delay in making Jammu Central University functional--on Monday said it would chalk out its future strategy on August 11. The first phase of agitation in the form of 15 days relay-hunger strike today ended at Raja Jambulochan Memorial Park Purani Mandi, with speakers vowing to fight discrimination against Jammu. “As the Union HRD Ministry has approved the name of former Chief Secretary S S Bloeria as the first Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Jammu Central University, we are hopeful for his formal appointment in next few days. We will meet on August 11 to review and decide further line of action depending upon the achievements in the matter,” JPPF chairman Paviter Singh said. He also informed that the forum would take up the various issues pertaining to discrimination with Jammu region. “We will take up the issues of delimitation of assembly constituencies, less allocation of development funds to Jammu region, etc,” he said. S S Bloeria is all set to be the first V-C of Jammu Central University, with the Union Government approving his appointment. Bloeria is a 1968 batch IAS officer who rose to become Chief Secretary in 2003 and retired in 2005. He is a native of Jammu.
